Insight participated in a meet named Poornamitham in Ernakulam held as part of a science exhibition organised by the Swadeshi Science Movement and Saksham. Insight demonstrated the screen reader technology for the visually challenged students of blind schools in Ernakulam district. The exhibition was held on the 19th of October in Ernakulam. The exhibition also saw the demonstration of ‘Audio Book Reader’, an electronic device to read audio books, developed by Saksham.

Insight was invited to give a presentation on IT in Special Education at the 2 day National Seminar on Best Practices in IT-Enabled Teacher Education and Knowledge Management, held at the PWD rest house at Thycaud, Trivandrum. The two day event, held on the 17th and 18th of October, was a sincere attempt to bring the best of IT enabled education from around the country under one roof.
A one day training session would be conducted for Akshaya Entrepreneurs in Thrissur. The training is being held as part of the roll out activities of Insight. The topics that would be covered are – Installation of Ubuntu Operating System, Orca Screen Reader – the technology for the visually challenged, Open Office and Web surfing using Mozilla Firefox.
Insight had already conducted training sessions for Akshaya entrepreneurs in Thrissur on 18th and 19th of September. The training programme to be held on the 29th of October is for the entrepreneurs who were not able to attend the earlier sessions.
